Sponsor a Child

DAVS Child Foundation was established to promote the welfare of children living in deprived communities of Ghana. The foundation provides food, shelter, healthcare, and education to children in need. We are able to provide these services to children through a unique and fun way that gets the global community involved with our organization. It aims to help disabled, orphaned, poor and exploited and trafficked children, in particular those living in small towns and villages in Ghana. The foundation works for the rescue, rehabilitation and empowerment of sexually exploited and trafficked children.

This is achieved through providing, promoting and advancing children’s rights to basic necessities, including education and health care, aimed at sustaining their long term development. The foundation is to ensure orphaned and abandoned children enjoy a healthy, caring environment while helping them find a loving family.

We believe that every child has the right to, and deserves, an education. Irrespective of that child’s background or gender, all children should be supported in attending school and acquiring the skills and qualifications necessary for a healthy and prosperous life. The education of disadvantaged children and orphans is at the core of our work.

Many barriers to education such as poverty, gender and lack of educational resources exist in the project locations where we operate, and prevent poor children from going to school. In Ghana, education even at primary school is not totally free, and is a barrier that stops many disadvantaged children and orphans from receiving an education.

Our child sponsorship program gives children the opportunity of an education to realize and reach their potential. It covers the cost of school fees, books, uniform and shoes and for meals both at school and at home, which needy widows and guardians (often grandmothers) cannot afford. We are committed to supporting each child to completion of their education, from primary and secondary schools and where possible up to university or other tertiary education. .

With just €30 a month you can help to educate a disadvanatged child who may otherwise be forced into child labour or early marriage in order to support their family.
