The Founder

Message from our Founder/Executive Director

Thank you very much for visiting our website and exploring the amazing work that we’re doing to help underprivileged children, youth, and women.

My name is Mr. Prince Arkoh Clayman, founder of the Dream Africa Volunteer Service (DAVS). I started DAVS in 2008 as a young energetic man who has passion for development. As a fatherless and a victim of child labour, I struggled through my primary and senior high school education due to financial challenges.

I thought of doing something meaningful that will improve the lives of people in my community, country and Africa. I’m passionate about making tangible impact and sustainable changes in the lives of vulnerable people, communities and the society at large. I believe in the power of volunteering and community development as an important tool for change, both in the life of the giver and the one who receives.

DAVS is all about working for a common good for the benefit of those who need it most. We focus primarily on the needs of children and women in society. We design projects that are tailored to bring sustainable solution to various challenges and problems facing rural and non-rural communities. We’re community oriented, and desire for change, we’re a team of “change makers” and every member of our staff gives their all to our projects, without expecting notion but to see positive change in the lives of others.

My vision for DAVS is a world where all children’s potentials are being realized to the fullest regardless of gender, ethnicity or circumstances, while women grow in business, support their families and have equal life opportunities.  We work hard to ensure that our impact can be measured and that every contribution invested is being accounted for. Transparency, teamwork and accountability is our hallmark. Our commitment to donors is to provide audio, video, and written documentation so that you can experience a first-hand account of how your donated funds are being allocated.

DAVS was founded by young graduates of various fields of development studies who have passion for community development; and are committed to contributing their skills and experience to projects that enrich the lives of people in deprived communities. They are locals born and raised in the various regions who understand the culture as well as structures in the region. They know which projects will have maximum positive impact, respecting the dignity and long-term needs of everyone involved. At DAVS, we’re family with respect for all people, nationality, belief and backgrounds.

I’m extending out an invitation to you. If you’re interested in volunteering, sponsoring, partnering or donating to support any of our projects, please email us now.

To all our past and present volunteers, donors and sponsors, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for believing in our mission and being an invaluable part of it.
