Biodiversity
Dream Africa believes that human activities affect the environment such as the quality of air, water and soil. Dream Africa has amassed the biological knowledge, cultural understanding and partnerships to ensure that, biodiversity thrive alongside local communities in Ghana.
DAVS applies knowledge to address species, habitat and critical ecosystem management issues to improving the quality of life of poor rural people whose livelihoods depend on the direct utilization of natural resources. It enhances sustainable development and use of natural resources in a participatory, rational, equitable and ethical way for the benefit of local communities.
DAVS conservation actions in Ghana include a comprehensive field-based system of surveillance, law enforcement monitoring and ecological monitoring; restoration and maintenance of critical forestry corridors; research into habitats and species found in the zones; and strengthening of the Government’s ability to manage and enforce forest and marine resource use regulations.
The organization carries out its purpose by designing with its target beneficiaries a sustainable developmental process which embraces the building of self-reliance, co-operation, and ownership of resources that will enhance their total well-being through capacity building, education, advocacy, awareness creation, income generation activities, networking and collaboration.
By participating in the education activities and cooperation in the field of biodiversity and wildlife protection and sustainable development, Dream Africa is attempting to make a significant contribution to raising public awareness about the need to preserve the environment and nature in all aspects of economic and social activity.
